BD2GUI - A Graphical
Interface for BD2
Bridge Designer II is a powerful analysis tool. It
provides Bridge Designers the capability of evaluating
various geometric and construction options. In the
process, it requires a large amount of geometric and
mechanical data and produces a large quantity of important
information regarding the construction of the structure
and the behavior in-service. This information is provided
in text format, in standard ASCII files that can be
viewed with standard text editors. However, a large
amount of text data can be overwhelming for a large
project. There is a distinct need to centralize the
data and display input and output results in a more
concise graphical way, which is usually more appropriate
for interpretation, and for the purpose of generating
design options and supporting engineering decisions.

Model and Analysis Results
BD2GUI provides users of the Bridge Designer II program
with a Windows based graphical tool to access graphical
elements in the Bridge Designer Relational Database
RDMS. Like a CAD program, BD2GUI displays graphical
components in Graphical Display Views, with basic
zoom and pan capabilities. In addition, BD2GUI displays
component data in rows and columns in List Views,
allowing end users to manipulate that data. By enhancing
the capabilities of the Database Manager RDMS, BD2GUI
enables you to surpass the specialized functionality
of the Database Manager as well as that of the CAD
environment.
